We drive to the village of Qala, which is nearby Hondoq ir-Rummien coastline with salt pans and caves.
Qala (pronounced Aala in English) is the eastern-most point of Gozo, and the furthest village furthest from the capital, Victoria. The coastline around Qala is largely rocky, with wonderful views of Malta and Comino. There are a few sheltered inlets, one being the secluded bathing spot at Hondoq ir-Rummien. There are many sites of historical interest here, such as the salt pans, the islands best preserved windmill and prehistoric remains. One can find examples of cart ruts, (parallel tracks cut into the rock) which extend over 180 metres.
From Qala we go onto Nadur.
Nadur has strong maritime links and history. The work "Nadur" means "lookout" in Maltese, which is also the town's motto. Nadur lies upon the easternmost hill of Gozo, the baroque Parish Church dedicated to Saints Peter and Paul dominates Nadur's skyline and one of Gozo's best baroque architectural masterpieces.
From Nadur village of Nadur we go down to Ramla il-Ħamra.
Ramla l-Ħamra (Ramla Bay)has a red sandy beach and is beautifully surrounded by hillsides from both sides and is easily one of the biggest and most beautiful beaches in all of Malta and Gozo.
From Ramla l-Ħamra (Ramla Bay)and then onto the very quaint village of Xagħra.
Xagħra, which means 'wilderness' in Maltese - a discription of the area before it was inhabited. Xagħra is located on a hill in the central north east of Gozo, it has a beautiful (Basilica) parish church, covered throughout with marble, the church is known locally as 'Il-Vitorija', the Blessed Virgin Mary of Victories, is dedicated to the Nativity of the Virgin Mary. Xagħra is famous for its prehistoric sites; the temples of Ggantija and the nearby Neolithic site of Santa Verna. Calypso's cave also lies within Xagħra. The village also has two grottos which have stalactites and stalagmites, namely Ta'Xerri and Ta'Ninu.
From Xagħra, we go onto Victoria.
Victoria (also known by it's old name, "Rabat"), is the capital city of Gozo, where we will stop for some free time and also lunch. Victoria, is located on a hill near the centre of Gozo. In the heart of Victoria lies the Citadella (Citadel), which has been the centre of activity of Gozo since Neolithic times, but is known to be first fortified during the Bronze Age approximately around 1500 BC.

The Azure Window (Maltese: Tieqa Zerqa) is a natural arch in the Maltese island of Gozo featuring a table-like rock over the sea. It is situated near two other famous natural landmarks - the Inland Sea, and Dwejra Bay. The stunning geography of the area was created thousands of years ago when two limestone caves collapsed.
